Case study cluster Mode-repositioning

The mode-repositioning cluster contains campaigns aiming to promote or change the image of public transport with a view to encourage greater use.

The case studies will demonstrate the ways in which authorities and operators are moving beyond the basic promotion of services and tickets and using communication strategies and information systems to create a new image for public transport.

These include marketing campaigns linked to national car free days, community involvement programmes, interactive marketing, the promotion of new tourist and business services and developing a positive image of public transport, particularly among schoolchildren.

Detailed descriptions of each case study are given under the links to the right.

Leader of this cluster is Hampshire County Council.
