WP D – Integrating Mobility Management and Land Use Planning

The team of workpackage D of the MAX-project was led by the University of Maribor, assisted by partners from Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. It has been working on the integration of Mobility Management and land use planning both in the plan-making process and in the site-related building permission process.

This WP considered the planning instruments that can be used to secure MM at the site and wider levels. It took into account the differing planning contexts and framework conditions in various member states, in particular in the fast-changing built environments of the EU New Member States. As part of the research it carried out a analysis of the planning process for several sites and areas at different stages of implementation.

In the research process, WPD of MAX has developed a set of guidelines, as well as a whole range of other useful recommendations, summaries, tools, training materials and research reports. On the MM-tool part of the EPOMM-website you can find practical advice on how to better integrate sustainable transport with land use planning and how to make Mobility Management a core part of the building permission process for new developments.
